Earned 11 Block LG letters playing four different sports from 1938 to 1942.All-Varsity halfback in football and was team MVP. Competed for three years on the Los Gatos track and field team as a pole-vaulter. Played four years of basketball and was team captain of a league championship team his senior year. Played tennis his sophomore and junior years going undefeated his last season. Was named team captain, MVP and Santa Clara Valley Tennis Champion. Was the #1 tennis player at BYU before leaving school to join the military.

Selected to the All County football team as a center. Led football team to an SCVAL league championship his senior season. Two-way starter in football leading the team in tackles from his linebacker position. Played football at Hartnell College leading the team to victory in the Little Rose Bowl. Star wrestler at San Jose State. |

Won the Streepy Award and Most Valuable Player Award junior year in football and was the team captain his senior season in Football. First team All-WSCVAL linebacker. Led football team in tackles both his junior and senior seasons.2nd place WSCVAL wrestling 165 pound weight class as a junior. Wrestling team co-captain as a senior.1st place WSCVAL and 1st place NCS wrestling in 175 pound weight class as a senior winning30 straight matches to finish his career. Shotput and high jump on the track team. Lettered in 10 straight seasons of Football, Wrestling and Track and Field. Attended San Jose State on a football scholarship. |

Four-year varsity wrestler at LGHS. League wrestling champion in his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. Placed first in CCS as a senior and 3rd in CCS as a junior. Compiled a 97-7 career wrestling record as a Wildcat. Outstanding running back for Varsity football team in his junior and senior years. Attended Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo where he was named Most Valuable Wrestler in 1974.Named Team captain of Cal Poly wrestling team in 1974 and 1975.Runner-up NCAA College Division National Wrestling Championships.

Was the starting tailback for the Wildcats both his junior and senior seasons. In his junior year he was named the Junior Athlete of the Year at LGHS. Senior season of football he was 1st team All-League and MVP of the WVAL. Two-time SJ Mercury News Player of the Week In baseball he was the starting shortstop both his junior and senior seasons. Hit over .370 his senior season and was named 1st team All-League. Wrestled 3 seasons finishing 3rd in League as a junior. Attended the University of California Berkeley where he was the JV starting shortstop as a freshman.

The best hurdler in LGHS history. Still holds school records in the 100 and 300hurdles (21 years old).CCS Champion in 100 hurdles in 1985.She is still the De Anza League record holder in both hurdle races.8-Time League Champion. Led Wildcats to CCS Team Championship in1985 and is #3 on All-Time Team scoring list. Chosen either MVP or co-MVP of track team for three straight years. Ran Varsity cross country for three years, including her freshman year on a league championship team. Played Varsity soccer her junior year in 1985.Attended Cal Poly SLO on a full track scholarship.

First team All-CCS his senior year of football. All League football player both his junior and senior seasons. Voted Outstanding Running Back in League asa junior and League MVP as a senior. Rushed for over 1,000 yards both his junior and senior seasons, becoming the first running back in LGHS history to ever do so. Scored 33 career touchdowns and won a scholarship to Cal Berkley to play football. In Track, set school records in the 100 meters in 1988, the 200 meters in 1987 and ran the 2ndfastest 400-meter time in school history. Track team MVP his junior and senior years. Unbeaten on home track in both 100 and 200and League champion in both events in 1988.

Four-year starter at first base on girl’s varsity softball team. Played on first CCS championship girl’s softball team in LGHS history her senior year. Twice named De Anza All-League in softball. Ran on the Mile Relay team in track her junior and senior years. Named LGHS Junior Scholar Athlete of the Year and LGHS Senior Female Athlete of the Year. Ran Track (1500 meters) at UC Davis where she was named to the 1996 USA All America Team. |

Four year Varsity starter on the girl’s soccer team. Named All-League soccer player four times. Player of the year in CCS her junior year and three times named to the All CCS team. Led her soccer teams to 2 consecutive CCS championships, being named team captain both her junior and senior years. Tied the LGHS scoring record senior season. Ran the 400 meters in track and competed at the state meet in the 1600 relay. Her triple jump mark still ranks 9th all-time. Played four years of soccer at SCU, where she was twice named team captain and led her team to the NCAA Final Four three times. Played in 1999 Women’s World Cup and professionally for the SJ Cyber Rays. |

Named First team All-State in football and played in the California vs. Texas Shrine Game Honorable Mention USA Today All-American. Attended the University of Washington on a football scholarship.
