Animation

Course Description:

This course is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the field of animation. Coursework will focus on learning the basics for figure drawing, traditional cell animation, 2D and 3D computer animation, lighting techniques and portfolio development. In addition, students will develop an understanding of scriptwriting, storyboarding and sound design, and non-linear editing as related to the field of animation.

Students will complete several assignments in a hands-on training environment, culminating in 2 final projects:

• Participation as a team member in the development of an animation project prepared by the entire class
• As an individual student, development of an animated short from concept to completion
