Computer Maintenance


Course Description:
This one-year program is directed toward preparing qualified entry-level persons to work in computer and peripheral maintenance positions. Students will be exposed to basic electronics and digital techniques including use of test equipment utilized in industry.
Being able to diagonse a hardware or software problem, install a new software application or operating system, or replace/upgrade a motherboard are just a few of the many skills needed by computer technicians in today's marketplace. The purpose of this class is to enable the student to acquire these skills, and prepare them for future employment in a tight job market. This class will help prepare the student for the A+ industry certification.
Students will learn hardwear setup, including: boot up process and configuration, CMOS passwords and resources, setting up storage parameters, and common troubleshooting procedures. Software will include: operating system, plug-n-play, tools and resources, computer management, and installing peripheral equipment.
