The Guidance Program Overview
|
| The Guidance Department provides information
to students and parents through frequent presentations,
student conferences, evening programs, and numerous publications.
We provide assistance in the planning of a student's educational
path and work with parents who are themselves an essential
component in their student's educational progress. This
web site provides a quick look at services and policies
that help students and parents actively participate in meeting
a student's goal. |
The
objectives of the LGHS Guidance Program are two-fold:
- To help each student earn a high school
diploma
- To help each student prepare for an appropriate
post-high school goal of his or her choice
|
The
basics of the Guidance Program:
- Informational meetings with all freshmen,
sophomores, juniors, and seniors throughout each year
- Mutual development of a flexible four-year
academic plan
- Annual parent-information programs
- College and career planning and advisement
- Monitoring progress towards
graduation
- Intervention meetings with at-risk students
- Post-high school planning beginning
freshman year.
