SSC Goals for 2004-2005
SSC needs assessment and funding goals for the 2004-05
academic year follow Los Gatos High School goals for
improving student achievement in the following four areas
of greatest priority:
- Improvement of reading and writing skills – Increase
the teaching of reading and writing skills across the curriculum.
- Staff Development – Create a comprehensive professional
staff development program.
- Improved support systems for at-risk students – Develop
additional intervention and support strategies for students identified
as at risk and/or for subgroup populations that are struggling with academic
achievement. Examine and implement ways in which tutorial and after-school
tutoring can support learning for these students.
- Improved and enhanced school climate – Staff
development and collaboration; auxiliary services for students and parents
(including availability of academic information on the Internet); and involvement
of staff, parents and community.
