Français 3
Madame Plyler
354-2730 x 371
COURSE DESCRIPTION This
course, taught entirely in French, will round out the basic knowledge presented
in levels 1 and 2 by giving special attention to advanced conversation and
composition. More complex points of
grammar will be presented with their application in daily communication. Further structured practice in the four
skills and enhanced cultural awareness will enable students to perform
communicative functions. Students will
read and discuss literary sources.
Supplementary reading will be required.
ATTENDANCE Regular
attendance is essential to successful pursuit of a foreign language. Refer to rules and associated consequences
for attendance and tardiness at Los Gatos High School.
MAKE UP WORK It is the
student’s responsibility to contact the teacher and to make up any work.
Students must arrange to make up missed work within two school days after their return to class following an
absence. Failure to do so will result
in a zero. If the absence is due to a school related activity, the student is
expected to make up the work the next day. There will be no make-ups
for unexcused absences or tardies.
ASSIGNMENTS Late work
is not accepted. Assignments that are not turned in as scheduled
result in a zero. Exception:
written compositions will be accepted one day late with an automatic 20%
penalty.
GRADES Students
will accumulate points for homework, oral presentations and discussions,
compositions, quizzes and tests.
Semester grades are determined by the two-quarter grades plus the final
exam. The final letter grade will be
determined by a percentage of the total points as follows:
100 - 90 %
= A
89 - 80 % = B
79 - 70 % = C
69 - 60 % = D
