CONCEPTS: Upon completion of this part, you should be able to:
1.  Convert between ml and liters, grams, centigrams and kilograms.
2.  Convert numbers into scientific notation.
3.  Tell how many significant figures are in a measurement.
4.  Describe at least one method for determining the density of water.
5.  Describe how impure water can be purified.
6.  Describe indirect water uses (which actually exceed direct water uses).
7.  Identify the primary storage reservoirs of the earth’s water supply.
8.  Use the hydrologic cycle to explain why the earth’s water supply is never used up. 
9.  Apply the concept of a watershed to your own community (the San Francisco 
     Bay Watershed and the Santa Clara Valley Watershed.)
10. State the average daily water use in the US (in liters/day) and list the three 
     most effective ways to reduce household water use.
