Our Core Beliefs
Effort and Commitment Trumps Ability
Regardless
of individual talent, every swimmer needs to buy into the team concept and take
the sport
of swimming seriously.
Believe us, you’ll have more fun working hard and sharing the same aquatic
experience than slacking off. We’ve all been part of teams whose superior
team chemistry superceded talent. In other words, good times on paper can’t
compete with a supportive, unified team that shows up to compete. Bottom
line: Be on time and give your best effort everyday in the water. As coaches,
we
know what it takes to swim fast and have fun.
Swimming is a Team Sport
People swim faster when they know others care about
them. If you only focus on your own times and progress, you’ll be cheating
your teammates and missing out on a richer experience. On this team, we’ll
be cheering for each other as we improve on times and technique.
Swimming Builds Relationships
Throughout
our swimming and coaching careers, we remember the relationships and shared
experiences most. That’s
why we’re here. Therefore, make a commitment.
Communication is Key
If we know where you are, how you’re feeling,
and what’s going on in your life (especially during practices and meets),
we’ll be in great shape. If not, we’ll have to have an abrupt
conversation. The coaches can’t guarantee you’ll get to swim
all of your best events in every meet, but we’ll try to match you
up with events that serve your strengths, as well as the interests of
the team.
