I. Poster Requirements
1) Hand drawn map and flag with the following information: (5 Points)
* The Capital
* Major cities
* Major bodies of water
*Significant geography (mountains...)
*Natural resources (list next to map)
*Environmental issues (list next to map)

2) Historical Timeline (10 Points)
The brief history of your nation should be accurate and afford other delegates the opportunity to make connections between historical events and larger social, economic, and political trends and developments. Although, you will discover many interesting facts about your nation and will be tempted to describe every detail, remember you are confined to small part of your poster and therefore need to be selective about what to include. After conducting your research, make a timeline of ten important events shaping the history and social, economic, and political trends and developments of your nation.

3) Political Profile (5 Points)
The political profile should include the current leader/s of the nation, the form of government and a description of it. Also, briefly describe how the nation came into power, any policitcal instablity such as civil wars or rebellions, and whether nuclear capability exists.

4) Economic Profile (10 Points)
The economic profile should include a description of the current economy and whether it is industrial or agricultural, the types of industry and/or agricultural products, trade imports and exports as well as trade partners. Include the economic growth which is measured in GDP or Gross Domestic Product. This is how much goods a country produces in a given year. GDP can be per person or in sum. Also include poverty statistics such as unemployment rate, population below poverty line.

5) Cultural and Health Profile (10 Points)
The profile should include the major languages, ethnic groups, religions, education levels, literacy rates, immigration and refugee issues, population, infant mortality rates, life expectancy, death rates, and disease statistics

II. UN Proposal (40 Points)
At the Model United Nations meeting, you will introduce yourself as a representative of your nation. During your introduction, you will present important information about your nation as well as your map to identify where your nation is located and finally, you will present your proposal for help.

The UN proposal should be typed, double spaced in paragraph format. Please include a bibliography with your proposal. The bibliography should include sources used for the poster as well as the proposal. Include the following information in the proposal:

1. After accumulating data on your country describe the TWO most important issues facing this country. Use the data from your research to support your answer. (If you are working alone describe ONE issue.)

2. Discuss the current circumstances concerning the issues and any recent action taken by the UN, member states, and any other members of the international community.

3. Outline your nation’s position on the issues and how your country would like to address the topics and seek to resolve any problems, concerns, or conflicts related to that topic. Identify counterarguments to your position.
