In groups of three or four, create a PowerPoint Presentation on a World Religion.

- Text on each slide should be four to five bullets, three to five
key words per bullet
-
Each person
should have one page of research notes. Incorporate
information from research notes during the presentation.
- No smaller than 36 point font, no larger than 42 point font
- Each content slide should include a small picture
- Each content slide should include a title
Content Slides
1. Historical context and conditions, how and when did the religion start,
important people
2. Major beliefs, religious
traditions and symbols, institutions and
structure of religion
3. Geographic regions, how it spread, where is it today, population
of followers, growth of
religion
4. Interactions with governments and other religions including major
historical and
contemporary conflict
II. 1 Picture
Slide
The picture slide should
include at least three to four images relating to the religion (symbols,
maps, important people...) with captions and citation.
III. Visual Interest
The
PowerPoint
should be colorful with backgrounds and transitions. Don't spend too much
time on this requirement. I don't want the overall visual quality
to distract from the content. (For example, no five minute transitions.)
The presentation must be turned in as ONE file.
IV. Lecture Guide
Create a lecture guide that goes along with your presentation for students
to fill out. Lecture guide should be typed and no more than ONE page. The lecture
guide
is
due
the
day
before
the
presentation
so
that
I
can make
copies for the class.
V.
Quiz Questions
Prepare five quiz questions from your presentation. The questions
can be fill in the blank or multiple choice format. Please make the questions
moderate to difficult.
If the question is too easy, I will throw it out and you will not receive
points for it. The three best questions will be taken from each group and
made into a quiz for the unit.
