Textbook Policy
Students are responsible for the care and preservation of
all instructional materials checked out to them. The
textbooks checked out to you with your Los Gatos High School ID
card are the property of the Los Gatos/Saratoga Union High
School District and it is your privilege to use these books
while you are a student at Los Gatos High School.
Students will be issued textbooks only for those classes
in which they are enrolled. Students are required to return
all textbooks at the conclusion of the class, at the
direction or request of the administration, teacher or
textbook staff, or if the student leaves Los Gatos High
School.
Textbook Rules

Textbooks are
checked out with a current, valid Los Gatos High
School ID card.

2. |
All
textbooks are to be covered with a non-adhesive
book cover.
|
|
3. |
Students are to protect all textbooks from
damage. If damage occurs, please bring the
textbook to the Textbook Office ASAP, so the
damage can be assessed right away. Identify any
problems with a textbook that is checked out to
you. If you notice a problem, let the Textbook
Office know within the first week of receiving
that book.

Students are not to write, underline, or
highlight in textbooks, including novels checked
out for English classes (use sticky notes).

5. |
If
a textbook is lost or damaged, the student is
required to pay all costs for the textbook that
was checked out to them.

6. |
All
textbooks checked out to the student must be
returned in good, usable condition, with the
barcode still attached to the book, at the end
of a class.
|
Seniors will not be given their diploma
until all textbook obligations are met.
Report cards, transcripts and school privileges, such as
Senior Ball/Prom bids may be withheld until all materials
are returned or fines/fees have been paid for.
Textbook Fines and Fees
Fines for repair or replacement of textbook materials are
assessed based on the time the textbook was checked out to a
student.

Online Information
Textbook information is available for each student to
view on Destiny. Students can keep track of books checked
out to them, due dates, barcode numbers for each book,
fines, and replacement costs for each book.
Click on the "Destiny Login" button below, then select
your school. Your username is the email address that
you use to log into Aeries. Your password is your
student ID
number.
