AP Exam Registration

Each year in May, students who are currently enrolled in AP classes have the opportunity to take a final AP exam. Scoring well on an AP exam can sometimes earn students college credit for their high school class if the college they attend accepts their scores. To check what schools take AP exam results please reference https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/getting-credit-placement/search-policies

Students must register online for 2025 AP Exams. Registration takes about 10 minutes.

Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration. Each AP exam costs $125.

Students should email Mrs. Blomquist in Office 1 at jblomquist@lgsuhsd.org IMMEDIATELY if:

  • You would like to register for an exam not listed.

  • You require financial assistance to pay for AP exams.

  • You are NOT in an AP Course but wish to take the exam.

  • You are planning to take two exams scheduled at the same time.

  • You think you may have an academic or sporting contest conflict.

  • You want to take an AP Exam at another school.

  • Or if you have any other questions.

AP Exam Registration September 13 - September 30To enable LGHS to order an AP exam, students must complete two steps:

  1. Register & Pay at Total Registration:  www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/051855

  2. To complete their registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Registration is not complete until students have printed the pdf of the confirmation page provided at Total Registration AND students use the class JOIN CODE to join their class section at the College Board website MyAp.CollegeBoard.org.

We know that parents may register their students for exams, however we strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.

Important Registration Dates

Students who cancel an AP exam after November 8 will receive a $85 refund per exam refund.  Students taking Spring Semester AP US Government & Politics may register for their Spring AP US Government & Politics exam in February.  All other AP exams must be ordered during the regular registration window which ends September 30.

General Policies

LGHS does not accept AP exam registrations from students who attend another public or private school. Students should contact the school they attend to arrange AP exam testing. Homeschooled students who reside within the LGHS boundaries may register to take an AP exam at LGHS by contacting the school’s AP exam coordinator no later than September 30.

LGHS students may register for an AP exam without being enrolled in the corresponding course, but such registrations will be honored only if space is available. If demand exceeds testing capacity, space will be awarded first to 12th graders, then to 11th graders, then to 10th graders, and finally to 9th graders. If the test registration of a non-enrolled student cannot be honored due to capacity restrictions, the student will be notified by October 31.
