College Scholarships

Please note: Your scholarship applications may be shared with various donor organizations for their use in choosing scholarship recipients. Please use caution when sharing confidential or personal information within your applications.

DEADLINE EXTENDED. Applications are due by March 4, 2024 by 5pm.

Each year, numerous individuals and community groups award scholarships to LGHS college-bound seniors. Groups include the Los Gatos Elementary Teachers’ Association, Kiwanis, Lions, Rotary, Loma Prieta Club, and many more.

Students with varied interests, commitments, and talents are encouraged to apply. Areas recognized include: academic achievement in all subject areas, community service, school leadership, athletic excellence, and community engagement. Each award has its own set of requirements and you do not need to be an ‘A’ student for consideration.

National League of American Pen Women

The National League of American Pen Women Santa Clara County are once again offering three (3) $1,500 monetary awards to female high school students graduating in 2024, undergraduate college students or returning college students of any age who are talented in Art, Writing or Music, and who are continuing their education at a college or university in the fall of 2024. Application can be found here and is due March 13, 2024.

SVEC High School Scholarship

The Silicon Valley Engineering Council Engineering Education awards recognize young engineering and technology students for their dedication, focus, and commitment to engineering. Engineering and Technology students graduating from high school are eligible. The award is $500 and students may receive an SVEC Education award only once. 

Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco

Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco (KACF-SF) is offering college scholarships for Korean American students planning to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year public college or university in California in 2023-2024. The scholarship includes an annual award of $2,500 and summer internship support. The deadline for Karen Ha Scholarship Application is March 15, 2024.

Chi Am Circle

Chi Am Circle is happy to announce its 2024 Scholarship. We’ve offered our scholarship program for Santa Clara County students for over 40 years. In 2023, Chi Am Circle awarded $114,000 to 40 local high school graduates! Please encourage all eligible students in either of the two categories below to apply:

1.  The main Chi Am Circle Scholarship is for Asian American high school seniors in Santa Clara County who have a minimum GPA of 3.3 and who are active in school and the community.  Students can apply here:

2.   Our Chi Am Circle Outreach Scholarship is for Asian American students in Santa Clara County with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Applicants are evaluated based on students’ talents, skills, and achievements. Students can apply here:

All applications must be submitted by March 1, 2024. Scholarships will be presented at an award ceremony on May 19, 2024. 

Chinese Historical & Cultural Project Lillian Gong-Guy Memorial Scholarship

The Chinese Historical & Cultural Project (“CHCP”) is pleased to announce our Lillian Gong-Guy Memorial Scholarship (“LGGMS”) for your 2024 graduating seniors.

Our organization was founded in 1987 to promote and preserve the history and culture of the Chinese and Chinese-Americans in Santa Clara County; additionally, we promote cultural and educational projects for the betterment of the community.

The LGGMS award program was established in 2014 in tribute to our late co-founder, Lillian Gong-Guy. Lillian dedicated her life to CHCP and community service. To honor Lillian this Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to exemplary college bound Santa Clara County high school seniors, of Chinese descent (Chinese race/ethnicity in combination with other ethnicities), who have demonstrated academic achievement balanced with strong community service involvement. Last year we awarded scholarships to eight deserving seniors. Scholarship awards start at $1,000.
